Magnets, Magnets, they are Curiously Strong
Well got a package today from ThinkGeek.com what was in it you ask, why magnets of course (as if you couldn’t guess that from the title.) Magnets are one of my favorite things to play with as a kid, if you got one, a kid that is, give them some magnets they will be fascinated for hours (or at least minutes.) Magnets are one of those thing that you know how they work but not some much why they work, and they have just so many uses. They are everywhere around you, in your computer, in your car, in your house, darn near everything you do on a daily basis has something to do with magnets.
The ones I got though are not your everyday run of the mill magnets they are a lot stronger then the little black one you may have messed with as a kid. These are Neodymium Iron-Boron magnets and are strong little buggers easily lifting thousands of times their own mass. I got mine not so much to play with, though I will do that, but for the Umetsu’s Girl project. (There will an update on her in a couple of days.) The will be used to hold her on to the base one in each foot and matching ones in the base. I am doing this for two reasons, one it that there are no pins molded on here feet for base mounting and two so that some time in the future if I want to remove her from the base I can. And so I leave you with a picture of Boo hanging by a magnet.
