Umetsu’s Girl Update

3 May, 2007 (12:31) | Figures, Model Making, Umetsu's Girl

Well progress has kind of stalled on the model building as I await for supplies to arrive from the various mail orders that I have placed. I have been working on sanding and prepping Umetsu’s Girl. The magnifier visor that I picked up this week has really helped out I thought I was doing well on finding bubble till I put those things on and damm found a lot more, as you can tell from the photos below.

She also has a major problem with her shirt. Buy the looks of things the mold halves were not aligned well when the cast her leaving a major flaw with right shoulder the problem is too big to sand down as I did with the other problem that the miss alignment cause. I am going to have to fill with putty and basically re-sculpt the shirt in this area. There are also a couple of good size holes in her chin, so far I have lucked out and there have been no major flaws in highly detailed areas.

I guess have such this kind of problem with my resin kit may turn out to be a good thing as I am learning a lot my first shot out the gate. On the downside it is a lot of work for such a simple kit.
