So we are done with the flashback arc and back with Clare and Maki. Oops but not before one important little thing, watching young Clare beg the Man in Black to give her Teresa’s flesh and blood ewww.Clare doesn’t exactly make friends with her fellow Claymores when she starts a job without them, in village that reports of possible Voracious Eater was hanging out in. That night while being debriefed my the man in black the truth comes out. That the Yoma Clare fought in the church was not a Voracious Eater but just a very strong Yoma, and that Voracious Eater is the name the organization gives to Awakened Beings so as not to let the public know about what a Claymore could become. The organization does not go after the Awakened ones unless there is a request. Needless to say Clare is just a little bit peeved. In the end the man in black lets Clare join a hunt for one of the Awakened Ones.

So Clare joins up with the hunting party a little late, which doesn’t sit to well with leader of the group who just happens to be on the girls who Clare managed to piss off earlier. Our little group of four consists of number six, Miria, number twenty-two, Helen, number fifteen, Deneve, and our girl Clare number forty-seven. The downside to Clare’s rank is that there is only forty-seven Claymores so that makes her the bottom of the class. Being the lowest comes as quite a shock to Maki who doesn’t think Clare is weak at all and needless to say the others think that see will be a liability in a fight.

So off they go the next more to go a hunting with Clare getting teased but Helen and Deneve. Miria is of the mind set that orders are orders and there is nothing we can do about it so we go on. When they stop to rest that night Miria has Clare spar with her to judge her strength because when they first meet Miria thought that Clare had to be a lot stronger the forty-seven. The other two watch the fight and quickly come to the conclusion that Clare’s fighting ability simply sucks out loud. The fight ends with Clare passed out in the rain for the night. The next morning they head off to find their target and are quite supised when they do for it is the unthinkable a Male Awakened Being.

A nice little cliffhanger ending but was expecting that with a title of Slashers I. Next time we get to see how well the Clare and the gang can handle a male Awakened Being and how did there become a male Awakened one in the first place as all Claymores are female. One thing I noticed, while all the girls amour is similar they all are not equipped then same. I first noticed it with their boots of all things, but as most of the episode was on the darkside the differences were not really apparent at first.
