Tax Season
Well it is tax season once again for those of us living in the US, and while a lot of people dread this time of year I don’t. Why is that you may ask. It’s simple I am not rich, while I am not poor either. I don’t really have a lot of those things that make filing tax returns complex. I don’t own a house, I don’t have any kids, I don’t run my own business, I’m not married (or divorced, or dating
). So doing my taxes is pretty quick and almost painless. In fact I got my W-2 in the mail today and in about 30 minutes this evening I filed both my Federal and State returns. The nice thing about doing my taxes is that because of the way I have my withholdings set up I never owe the government and always get a refund. So every year that return act kind of like a forced savings plan, and every year I use it to get something for myself. Last year it was my return and two years worth of savings made up the down payment on my car a couple of years back it was my trip to Sakura-Con and this year my refund along with a year of saving my bonus from work are getting me a MacPro. Which I may just order tomorrow.
