Mac Wallpaper Changing

So I’m kind of a wallpaper junkie, I think I something in the range of 300 or so on the old windoze box. Now you can only have one wallpaper at a time and it is kind of a pain to manually change the wallpaper all the time. So, I had a gotten a little program that would change the desktop background every five minutes or so. While I haven’t migrated my collection over to the Mac yet (doing some file swapping this weekend) I got to wondering if there was something similar out there for the Mac. After a little research I found that’s is freaking build in how cool is that. That what I like about Macs some of those little things that a lot of people want to do are built in instead of haveing to go out and find a third party app to do it. Now not only will the Mac change your wallpaper in intervals as little a 5 seconds it just doesn’t throw the new one up but does this neat little cross-fade between the old and new ones. Too bad its hidden by the application I am using most of the time. ;-)

So to all my fellow wallpaper junkies out there just how many wallpapers do you have.

Every 5 sec would beanoying on my OS (Tiger) as it dose not cross fade. Guess it’s a lepoard thing.

I keep a folder for a year on anime wallpaper collected here and there online. Then that gets archived and I start fresh every January… so not many so far this year. I like animepaper.net.

Do you have a special website or group you get yours from?

@JB

Was just getting mine here there and every where got a bunch from 4chan when I first came across it. I did have a small collection of bookmarks but lost that when Windoz crapped out a couple years back. (Yea I know should have had a back up.) I really need to start rebuilding my online resource list now that I got a better responding computer. I should join one of those bookmarks sites that way I have a back up that’s nonlocal.

I definitely like the subtle changes Apple made to the wallpaper changer in Leopard. It works much better than it did in Tiger.

My wallpaper collection grew out of control a long time ago. I think at one time I had over a thousand. ^^; Most of the images where just taking up space. So now I keep my collection small. Unless I really like the image I delete it when it bores me. Currently I have about about 81 images from anime to photography images.
