File Transfers
Well got the old computer up and running with the backup monitor. The Maxtor drive works fine with Windows box (too bad the same can’t be said for OS X) So now it is just move everything over to the 750Gb Seagate drive that I installed. The transferring of files look like it is going to take quite some time over the network even at 100Mbit/sec. Rough guess for the time needed somewhere in the 30-48 hour range. All told it is about 500Gb of data. After that it’s get everything more organized and get the more important stuff backed up to DVD. So the next step is to learn how to burn data CD’s and DVD’s on the Mac. (Learning is so much fun.)
Man this makes it look like the The Geek Review is turning into a Mac blog. Can’t have that so here’s a random Anime image via moe.imouto.org
