Mac Mouse Upgrade
Well I dugout the Bluetooth mouse that I got as part of the Logitech MX 5000 set. While the set includes a Bluetooth keyboard as well I decided to stick with the Mac keyboard. While at first I had a little trouble with the Mac keyboard I quickly got use to it. What I really like about it is the size Apple basically stripped the keyboard down to the bare minimum needed to function while still keeping the keys full size. Which enables me to have the keyboard on the desktop with out eating up much needed space. Getting the keyboard off the hanging keyboard shelf has let me have my chair up to its full height and not bang my knees into the desk.
While I like the Mac keyboard the Mac Mighty Mouse just hasn’t worked out for me. The main problem you can see from the picture above is the size. I am not a average sized fella by any stretch and mouse is just to small for my hands. So in comes the Logitech MX mouse the biggest mouse I have been able to find. Another plus is the mouse is a cordless Bluetooth mouse freeing me from the 20 inch cord of the Mighty Mouse. The only problem that I ran into is that Logitech doesn’t make any Mac drivers for the mouse and keyboard. That was quickly fixed with little program call Steermouse which superseeds the Mac mouse controls and has support for mice with up to 16 buttons. While my mouse doesn’t have quite that many it does give me back my forward and back web browsing buttons that I got use to from the MX 700 mouse that I was using with the windows box. All in all I think that the combo of the Apple keyboard and Logitech mouse will work out just fine.
