Review: The Forbidden Kingdom
Well late post tonight. Just got back from seeing The Forbidden Kingdom, the new Jackie Chan and Jet Li flick. What can I say it was a damn good flick, not out of this world but damn good. Now Jackie Chan is best know for his fight scenes where he uses any object handy to fight the bad guys but I think this is the first one I’ve seen where he uses the person he is try to protect as a weapon. The first fight between Chan and Li has to go down as one of the best in Kung Fu film history. The film is a little weak on plot in fact and the online summaries you got the whole film. I would love to see the Chan and Li match up again in something with a bit more depth. Now it it quite obvious that Jet Li has a dual role in the film as the Silent Monk and as The Monkey King but Jackie Chan also does double duty if you haven’t seen it yet try to spot him. The only real disappoint with the film was that there was no blooper reel during the credits. I mean come on what’s a Jackie Chan film without the blooper reel.
