For the last few posts I have been experment with a offline editor called MarsEdit. With the upgrade to Wordpress 2.5 made some good changes to how their editor works, the most notable being multi image upload. There are still some problem with it. After I made the upgrade I had to fight to make the posts appear how I wanted them to, and Wordpress still hasn’t been able to stop their visual editor from eating html code that I insert. I’m no html guru but sometimes there are bits of code that I need to put in to add features to post that I want. The other problem I have with the new Wordpress is while they have made it easier to upload multiple images at one go, adding multiple images to a post has become an objet lesson in frustration. So I started looking for a solution.

MarsEdit seems to be that solution. It allows me to write the post locally then upload it to the sever. It is also integrated with Flikr, which also solves my Flikr plug-in problem. It will also allow me to make macros that will automate some of the things that I have to do manually now. Also the nice thing is that it allows me to use a bigger font for editing then what will appear on the screen and with my bad eyes that is a nice improvement, making it more comfortable to write is a good thing. I’m using the trail version now and so far I’m liking it the only complaint I would have is the price for the full version seems a bit steep to me at $30, but then what do I know about software pricing.
