Holy Early Heatwave Batman

When I tell people that I meet on the internet that I live in California, the most common response is that it must be nice. What with the warm winters and the beach and mild summers. Well people I hate to break it to you but California is not Los Angeles. The part of the state I live in get pretty cold in the winter not a bad as say the Dakotas but often with lows down in to the twenties and snow every few years or so. It’s not too bad just stay indoors and bundle up when you have to go outside.

The part that gets bad is the summer time. Look at the graphic above here it is only mid May, not even officially summer yet, and already we are hitting tipple digits for the last 4 days. When full summer comes we can easily go weeks with tempers in the 110+ range with days hitting 120 a pretty normal occurrence. The average high in July is a little over 98 degrees. But, luckily it’s a dry heat. With the exception of the rare thunderstorm we don’t get any rain fall between the months of May to August.

Now the easiest way to beat the heat is to just sit inside and crank up the A/C. But, that gets expensive fast so unless it gets really hot its sit around and take it. Even when we do run the A/C my room is at the end of the duct run so tend to be hotter then the rest of the house.
