Real Drive

The other new anime that I am watching right now is Real Drive. It’s kind of hard to explain the plot in less then 5 paragraphs, but I will try. The shot of it is that in the later half of the 21 century we’ve come up with some sort of high end cyber tech that has changed society as we know it. We have also started building artificial islands to help house humanity and it seams that the ocean don’t like it to much as never before seen natural phenomenon are taking place damaging part of the cyber network.

Enter this guy who was a free diver before his accented that put him in a coma for a long time. Back when he was younger he was helping to investigate the new phenomenon that was taking place in the ocean. Now he does cyber diving, entering the cyber network to fix the problem that are accruing because of the phenomenon.
The charter designer seems to like his girls full figured.
These two girls are the old man’s assistances. The girl on the left is an Android, and the girl on the right is a high school student. The student is a candy stripping type who seem to be some kind of precog, and may be able to sense some of the things that are going on in the ocean. Also it seems that when she is around and the old man is cyber diving his cyber self becomes young again.

And, what’s up with the Secretary in charge of the investigation department showing up on screen like she’s doing commercials for late night 1-900 chant lines.
All in all it’s a bit strange but interesting will be keeping an eye on this one.

This is prolly the first anime, that got me lost in those techy-saturated setting. The animation quality is superb though.

@KPYMbangi
Yea is pretty tech-dense, with a lot just thrown at you will no real explanation. Hopefully future episodes will help clarify some of it.
@Panther
Well one description I saw for it was a “neo-futuristic science-fiction suspense story” so some of the unknown quality of the story adds to the suspense part of it. Also some of the what the heck is going on comes from some of what KPYMbangi is talking about. They just threw us into this world with little back story. Waiting see where they go to from here.

W00t you started on Real Drive as well. Was the last one I started on this spring, since it took so long for some fansub to come out with it, and needless to say I was happy to know Ureshii Saizen were doing it, since both are good groups. Like the storyline so far but according to someone who watches the raw he questions where exactly it is going.
