I’ve been reading John Ringo again and the one thing that always makes his books interesting and unique is the inclusion of musical reference. In the Polsen war books the ACS corps almost always went in to battle with music blaring. At the end of the last book I read Unto the Breach he in included a list of songs mentioned in the book, that lead me to DragonForce.

DragonForce kind of reminds me of the 80’s fantasy music hair bands. But, unlike the 80’s bands they’re playing it a hell of a lot faster. Watch the video below and prepare to be shocked but how fast they are playing the guitar. Now most gamers will know the song in the video from Guitar Hero but I’m likely the stuff off their early album Valley of the Dammed.
