With any big meeting of tinkers there is going to be the guys who can’t stop themselves from making robots or other weird contraptions. And when there are robots there are fighting robots. I missed the robot combat but you will see in the pics below there are robots who will deal damage to humans.
Besides the robots you have the stuff that defiled.
Subjugator and Manipulatrix are not afraid to so us what will happen if humans get to uppity and try to enslave robot kind.
It was nice to see a robot who was on friendlier terms with the human race.
This little guy and his big brother are undecided on how they fell about the humans as they need us for the pneumatic power they need to run.
Besides the robots there was the stuff that you really couldn’t define. This peice is part art work part CNC machine. There are two large stepper motors under the table that move a magnet which in turn drags the ball through the sand creating a kind of abstract zen garden fell. This guy had figured out how to output the orientation sensor from his iPhone and was using it to control the watering can. While the demo use a local WiFi network he said he had gotten it to work over the internet.

This picture sucks as it doesn’t really show what this thing is doing. The pinball bumper keep three pinballs moving, while lighting up the neon rings when the get hit, and because they are in a bowl the motion never ends.
