Firefox 3 release Announcement.
The the folks over at Mozilla have announced that the new version of the the Firefox browser will be coming out next Tuesday the 17th of June. As part of the release of the new browser Mozilla is attempting to the break the Guinness World Record for most downloads in a day, over a million people so far have pledged to help.
For us Mac users it looks like there are major changes to the underlaying code that supports Firefox. The most notable being the dropping of the Carbon and QuickdrawAPI in favor of Cocoa and CoreGraphics. Hopefully the upgrade will as solve some of the memory hungary aspect of Firefox 2 on Mac.
