Firefox Download Day

Well for those how haven’t been paying attention, today Mozilla released FireFox version 3. As part of the release of the new version they are trying to break the record for total number of copies downloaded in a single day. For your download to count you must get it by 11:16 PDT or 18:16 UTC June 18th. Currently the count is a 2.7million, and at the tracking page you can see how each region is adding to the total.
I’ve only been using it for about an hour now so I can’t give a detailed review. It does seem to be a bit faster then ver 2 and I have seen a marked speed increase while using gmail. I haven’t made up my mind yet about the new Smart Bar yet. They have fixed a problem that was causing ver 2 to lock up when I was visiting one site and while I have been using it hard I haven’t seen the Mac beach ball yet so so far it looks like they fixed the Mac memory problem.
