Well here she is once again No.47 Clare. I had meant have this up earlier today but I had totally forgot that we were going to Six Flags: Discovery Kingdom today. Working on sorting the pics from that later. For those not in the know Clare is from the manga/anime Claymore. Clare’s job is to hunt down and kill the Yoma that prey on humans, but in order to fight the monstrous creatures, who can disguise themselves as human she has taken a part of them into herself. So in order to kill that which she hates, she had to become in part on of them.
This is the second Clare figure that I have gotten and the first figure to break the one figure per character rule. Seeing how it is Clare thou exceptions were made. I am still hoping someone will do some figures of the other girls from Claymore. This version of Clare is modeled after her appearance durning “The Witch’s Maw” story arc. At that time Clare had disguised herself as a young man in order to travel more freely in search of Raki. The figure also has two interchangeable heads, normal silver eyes and yellow eyed fang mouth powered up.
Sculpt:
I haven’t ben able to determine who did the sculpt but the did a bang up job on the pose and clothing. The pose has a nice sense of motion to it with Clare’s cape flaring out nicely. That being said the normal face is just not quite right. It does look more like the Clare from the manga then the anime there is just some thing off. The power up face on the other hand is very nice with the yellow cat eyes and fangs. You can even see the bulging veins around the eyes.
Production:
Production is very good with no visible seam lines and the only joint line to be seen being the one that always seems to show up in the hair. Paint is nice with but with minimal shading on the clothing, tho the armor is shaded to give shape and weight. The cloak is removable via decapitating the figure then slipping off the shoulders. The two heads fit in to their hole smoothly without being sloppy. While it at first seemed that the sword was also removable it turned out to not be the case. The sword is held loosely in the hand, but the and is tightly closed. This means however that at times it is hard to keep the sword where you want it. I think this design is caused by the fact that the sword if fixed would not be able to get out of the way for cape removal. It is interesting to note that while right leg is screwed on to the base the left is either glued on or part of the base itself.
As of this writing Clare is still up for order over at Kid Nemo, Hobby Search and Play-asia

Nice pictures… I do like the close ups. Lucky you have the MH version also I like that one more so than TW.
I’m have trouble making up my mind as to which one I like better the MH Clare has to Claymore outfit going for it while the TW had the more dramatic pose.
Yes, I know what you mean, I mentioned before that I passed up purchasing MH Clare locally at a shop because they were over charging for her . One other thing I did notice that was kind of a turn off w/MH version is she is looking down and so I would have to keep her up on a higher shelve just to se her face. But that’s not such a big deal….. still kick myself for not picking her up.
I picked up the Calymore vol. 12 manga at a local store this weekend. This picks up were the anime left off (and hopefully will we it in a 2nd season anime). vol. 13 is due out later this year, I have not yet picked up the first 1-11 books since I having seen the anime and wondering if the manga is any different.
What I find surprising is that it took so long for a US company to pick up the anime, and why in the hell did it have to be FUNimation?
