Captain Dan & the Scurvy Crew are the origanl hip-hop Pirates (myspace page, official site.) And, yes it is exactly what it sounds like, a mix of pirate stereotypes and gangster rap. With song title like, Yo Ho Ho, Flintlock Glock, and Chests o’ Plenty (and we’re not talking treasure chests here.) Their new album Rhymes of the Hip-Hop Mariner just came out featureing rap version of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. It’s nerdcore at it’s best.
