Summers Over

weather1003.jpg

Well it is now official Summer is over.

It’s one o’clock in the afternoon and it 62°F (17°C) out and raining. Now a lot of people will try and tell you that the northern part of the Sacramento Valley has four seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring) well it don’t it has two, Wet & Dry. So today we officially started the Wet season. On rare occasions the Wet will turn to freezing and Wet in which case we will get snow, but that only happen about every 5-6 years or so.

The reason for this the fact we are surrounded by some fairly tall mountains and we don’t get any of the warm moist air coming off the Gulf of Mexico like east of the Rockies. (But, then again that is way we don’t get the tornados like east of the Rockies.) So for us to get rain in the ‘Summer’ months clouds would have to have so much water in them that they wouldn’t be able to dump it all before they make it to valley, and that rarely happen.

So what’s the weather like where your are at?
