So in a few more hour another year will have pasted into history. Your milage may vary depending on you location, in fact most of you are either already in the New Year or closer to it then us on the West Coast.
So what has kind of become the tradition here we’ll look back to the resolutions that were made at the start of the and year and see how I did.
1. Do a post a day on TheGeekReview. Did very excellent on that one with only a few missed days do to power outages and last minute travel. 2008 also saw the launch of the Symmetrical Docking Friday.
2. Do more Photography. Not so much, did have a photo in a local art gallery show but other then that didn’t make much headway on that goal. So call it a half point.
3. Lose weight. Did crappy on that one and end up gaining back some. I back up to about 250 or so, still that is 40 pounds off my max, but not anywhere close to the 210 or so that I wanted to be at.
4. Get the room cleaned up. A complete success as shown by the Room Tour pics. There has been some back slide since then but nothing that can’t be taken care of in less then an afternoon.
5. Work on the Japanese. Didn’t happen nuff said.
6. Look for / Get a new job. Well kind of did and kind of didn’t. I did put out my resume to half a dozen or so places and got a couple of thanks but no thanks letters. But, I did end up getting a promotion at work so going to call this one a draw.
So all total that is 3 out of 6 so not too bad, could have been better. What I really need to do is have better time management as I tend to get home and veg in front of the computer and TV when I get home from work.
The Blog itself has had a pretty good year with page views going from 3,700 in January to just shy of 18,000 this month. The trip to Japan fund is approaching the $100.00 level. December has shown the best earning in Google Adsense revenue at almost $2.00 for the month which is a 0.10% click thou rate. Project Wonderful ad revenue is running 5-30 cents per day but all that is turned around and reinvesting in ads for the site in an effort to build readership. So all in all a good year here to a better one in 2009, for which I have some plans in the works and a major event will take place.
Happy New Year man.
I am considering doing the same for Project Wonderful to post ads on others’ sites using the same system, but I wonder if I should. Not earning much right now, few cents per day is considered a good thing for me already, and I am probably not earning much via AdSense either. I wonder if there are other ways.
Problem of not having a stable job I guess. Good job on The Geek Review too, hope to see continued coverage of stuff like that this year.
Well all the Trip to Japan funds have come from Affiliate sales, Play-Asia, J-list, Amazon ect.
