My copy of the DFTBA Records Hank Green album So Jokes arrived yesterday. For those of you who don’t know Hank Green along with his brother John are the Vlogbrother who hit Youtube fame when in 2007 they stopped all text commutation with each other and started talking via video blogs. Durning the course of the year Hank was challenged by his brother to come up with a song on alternate Wednesdays. The best of these song eventually made their way on to the album So Jokes.
Now most of these songs are not what you would call main stream and a lot of them are full of in jokes that only really make sense if you are one of the Nerdfighters (the dedicated fan-base that moved the Vlogbrother to #46 one the all time subscribed list.) Even the title So Jokes is an in joke along with DFTBA Records (DFTBA stands for Don’t Forget To Be Awesome.) So the songs are basically nerdy in content but it is nice to hear them again with better production values, and you can check out some of them here in their format.
