Mac Heist 3

Those guys and gals over at Mac Heist are at it again with the Heist 3 bundle. For only $39 dollars you get up to 13 popular Mac apps with a portion of the sales going to charity. I got in on the second Heist last year even before I had ordered my Mac.

This years Heist seems a bit heavy on the graphics side of things with three photo apps. Picturesque, LittleSnapper, and Acorn, all three are photo editing apps and while all three take different approaches, they wouldn’t be much use to me a diehard Photoshop guy. The games this time are World of Goo and Big Bang Board Games. Now the Big Bang bundle is available to the first 25,000 buyers and at the rate this Heist is selling that should be some time late tonight or some time in the early am tomorrow. The World of Goo is a fun puzzle game with a interesting physics engine, and which I already own so no value there for me.

What really has me interested is a couple of the unlockable apps, of which the first unlock goal has been met. WireTap Studio is a audio recording and organization app that seems to have a lot more flexibility then Garage Band in terms of audio sources. The other is BoinxTV a video recording “TV studio in a box.” Sponsored Edition, so you need to add a credit in each show stating that it was created with BoinxTV—that’s it. Getting a $200 app for thirty nine buck seems to be a good deal to me. For BoinxTV to get unlocked there has to be $400,000 raise for charity but seeing how there has already been over $100,000 raise in the first day of a 14 day event I don’t see a problem with that goal being meet.

Of the other apps iSale, and eBay auction generator looks intersting and so dose SousChef, an cooking/recepie app. But I have no use for Phone View as I am lacking a iPhone.

Well I’m off to get my copy of MacHeist 3 before the first 25,000 runs out.
