Thanks goes to the Hawkster for turning me on to this. ABC is planing on redoing the 1980 classic Science Fiction mini series V staring that hottie form Firefly Morena Baccarin as Anna the leader of the aliens.
The original V was one of the first show the I was allowed to stay up past my bed time to watch. Yea I’m dating my self here, that was back in 1983 so I was a freshman in High School. For the time it had a pretty big budget and good special effects. There was a bit over the top Nazi influence to the alien baddies, with the red flags with Swastika-like emblem and the “Friends of the Visitors” Hitler Youth like program. It was a bit heavy handed at times but lots of fun, but the big 80’s hair kind of dates it a bit.
I’m hoping that ABC does a good job with the reboot of the series. The current plan is to have it as a mid-season series with four parts of 13-22 episodes per season. With a planed story arc that “…will have a beginning, middle and end.” bodes well for a well thought out series. I am wondering if they are going to do the same lizard people in disguise bit that the original series did. Would be creepy to see Morena Baccarin swallow a hamster whole like Jane Badler did.
