Synth Saturday: Roland SH-09

This weeks Syth Saturday is a bit late as I took my Mom out to see the new Star Trek movie for Mother’s Day.

So this week we have the Roland Sh-09 is a 32 key Monophonic synth from the early 80s. While it has a single VCO, VCF, LFO, and VCA. The VCO has noise, square, ramp and pulse, and while there is only the one VCO the SH-09 has a sub oscillator which divides the main VCO and add a square wave 1 or 2 octaves below giving it a nice fat sound. It has a sample and hold and there is even an external input which will allow you to filter external audio through its VCF. The video below does a much better job then I ever could showing off the SH-09′s features.
