Second to last post about the Weird Sound Generator. The build of the working components is complete and it is making sounds. And, yes they are weird. So there is truth in advertising, well not really advertising as I’ve never seen an ad for the Weird Sound Generator, so we’ll call it truth in naming. Now that electrical construction is complete all I have left to do is my a box for it.
So after I finished soldering the last connection I put the ICs in and hooked it up to my little mixer board on the computer and fired it up. What did I get nothing, so I looking at seen if I did anything wrong and while moving wires about to see I anything was smoking (always a bad sing of your electronics smoke), I darn near burnt my finger on the bigger of the two ICs. Doh, I put it in backwards. So flipped it around and got sound.
I recorded a bit of the sounds and made up a short slide show vid in iMovie. Then up loaded it to youTube. The vid is below. This was my first time using iMovie or youTube so let me know if anything is weird. The upload to youTube too longer then I expected, about 37 minutes for a 2 minute 30 sec video. Then youTube had to process the vid for playback, so far its been over an hour. But since it’s getting late I’m going to go ahead and put this post up so you may or may not see the vid.
