So I started reading a new Manga today (over at Mangafox)called Otoyomegatari (Young Bride’s Story) by the Manga artist Mori Kaoru. Who is best know for the Victorian London historical romance manga Emma. The story, about a 20 year old nomad girl that gets married to a 12 year old village boy, is pretty interesting, but way really drew me in was the artwork. The attention to detail and the level of it are just downright amazing. Then while trying to find out more info about the magna I came across a link to a story on Comic Natalie that had six videos showing Mori drawing the above picture. Each video is about 5-6 minutes long and shows her doing everything from the rough sketch to inking and screen-tone. What really amazed me how with a few quick lines she can make the detail level jump so much. Check the vids out you’ll be glad you did.
