So the trailer for the Avengers Movie that’s coming out next year is up on Apple’s site.
Overall I would have to say the trailer really doesn’t gets me all that excited for the movie. Yes I’m going to go see it, most likely opening week. But if I didn’t know who the characters were already the trailer wouldn’t really tell me anything.
From the trailer it looks like it’s mainly going to be an Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America movie with Hawkeye and Hulk playing backup and Black Widow just there for eye candy. Hey I could be wrong (and I hope I am) but that just the impressing I get from the trailer where only the Iron Man, Captain America and Nick Fury getting any lines and Black Widow mainly getting the ‘sexy fighter’ treatment.
Don’t believe me this is the first good look you get of Black Widow.
Joss Whedon is know for strong female characters (River, Buffy, Echo) but all we get from this trailer is sex appeal and that she can fight. Hopefully the trailer is not indicative of the movie and Black Widow will be a bit more three dimensional.
The rest of the trailer just seems a bit Michael Bay-ish. Exploding cars, people being thrown through the air, quick action and fast cuts. It really doesn’t give away any of the story.
