Krypteria

One of the latest additions to my iTunes library is Krypteria.

Krypteria is German ‘symphonic metal’ band. Started in 2001 as a “pop musical theatre studio project” in 2003 the self titled ‘fantasy-musical CD’ was released. At the time there was no lead vocalist, because the group founders want to use many different voices. In 2004 the group re-recorded the song “Liberatio”, as a benefit single for India tsunami relief, with German/Korean singer Ji-In Cho. The single hit #3 on the German chats and it was from that project that Krypteria was officially formed. Since then Krypteria has released four albums and on EP. Their latest album “All Beauty Must Die” came out earlier this year.

I have trouble describing how bands sounds but for me Krypteria is kind of a cross between Evanescence, strong female lead singer with almost ballad like songs, and DragonForce, great guitar and drum interaction but without a lot of the speed. Give them a listen I’m sure you’ll like them too.
